So each month we are working on a small project in our closet. I guess you could do this in your kids closets too and with your husbands cloths as well but I don't want you to get overwhelmed. That is why I just want this to be about your closet and your cloths. For now. We can tackle theirs later. With that said, you can take a look at past posts and catch up with me on organizing your closet.
This month we will focus on a change of seasons!! It is officially Spring!! Even though it seems to have skipped right to Summer here is Atlanta.
To that end what we need to work on is our change of clothing from one side of the closet to the other or front to back, whichever is the orientation of your closet space. I do not believe in removing and storing all your winter items in some other closet or in boxes in the basement or attic. This creates a ton of work and really, who has time for all that? I think that changing or simply moving the new season's cloths to the front where you get dressed or where you walk in and see these items is sufficient.
The list of items to move to the back should be something like this: winter shoes, scarves, heavy coats, hats, boots, sweaters, leggings, winter skirts and dresses, long sleeved shirts, etc. Wash all items that need to be washed, like coats and scarves so that you can put them away fresh. Place boots and winter shoes in individual bins if they aren't there already and store them at the top of your closet or on the floor under your cloths.
Basically, change the staging of your closet to reflect all things that you will wear for the hot months, April through September (August in some places). Now you are ready for Spring and Summer! It is much easier to take inventory of what you have and what pieces you may want to add to your wardrobe for the upcoming months. Purge of t-shirts and tanks that are worn. Also, consider removing items that are out of style, you know you won't wear, or that don't fit. Keep only the Spring and Summer items that are relevant for your style.

From personal experience, this is a MUST for all of you to really get a handle on what you have in your closet and what you should purge!!
